Initial Launch
Hello all! This game was created over 6 weeks as a term project for CIT131 Game Design. It was my first experience with creating a game, but hopefully it will prove enjoyable. I had a great deal of fun making it!
The initial launch features a tutorial level and one "real" level with enemies and more environmental interactions. I have two additional levels in differing stages of development, so time permitting I will try to get them completed and added to the project in a future release.
Items:
Samples increase your score when collected.
Armor protects the player against a single projectile hit.
The plasma cannon provides a ranged attack after being collected. (Hit the V key to fire).
Enemies:
Peltasts are small, flying opponents that can be found guarding intersections between floors with a light plasma rifle. They lack the heavy armor of their larger kin to accommodate their wings, thus they can be dispatched with a single hit.
Legionaries are much tougher adversaries that require several shots to pierce their armor and dispatch them. Their MMC weapon fires shells that detonate on impact with the player or environmental objects, incinerating anyone caught in the blast.
Known Issues:
- Score does not transfer between levels.
- Space Bar causes the browser window to scroll down on certain browsers. If this happens, toggle the game to full screen mode and it will work as intended. I will look into a more permanent solution for the next build...
- The game takes a rather long time to load. I'll be working on some optimizations for the next build to see if I can improve the load times.
If you find any other issues while playing, feel free to leave me a comment and I will see what I can do to fix the issue in the next version. Constructive feedback is also most welcome, I aim to continue refining the project over our winter break.
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy the game.
